Outside Plant Technician
$21 - $32 hourly
Cambridge Telephone is a local Idaho-based Telecommunications provider. The Outside Plant Technician is responsible for outside plant improvement and maintenance of telephone and internet facilities; under the direction of the CTC Outside Plant Tech Manager, this position will be involved with a pre-survey of job sites to determine needs concerning, equipment, materials, parts, and safety provisions; follow all public safety precautions and all prescribed safety procedures that pertain to the job and related equipment; assist in outside plant emergencies when called upon; work with the Outside Plant Manager to assure quality installation and that proper maintenance procedures are followed; install, maintain, and service telephone lines, cables, fiber, subscriber carrier systems, protectors, and pedestals; diagnose and repair trouble in switching equipment and plant facility; perform fiber splicing, termination, and transfers of service to new facility; place direct buried subscriber line drops using plowing, digging, and trenching equipment.
Responsibilities
- Outside plant construction including but not limited to installation of buried conduit, copper drop cable, and fiber optic cable, splicing fiber optic cables and installation of various types of equipment to deliver phone and internet to Cambridge Telephone customers
- Locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, marking their proper location
- Contact customers when necessary to repair facilities
- Preparations and cleanup of job site
- Promote a quality working environment with other technicians and customers
- Operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment assigned to your area of responsibility
- Work with Outside Plant Technicians to facilitate all facets of installation, maintenance, and repair Telecom plant in the serving area
- Customer premise wiring
- Understand Idaho Digline laws (811) and how to report damages properly to Manager if damage occurs
- Perform building and grounds maintenance as required
- Assist in marketing efforts as a representative of Cambridge Telephone Company, Inc.
- Maintain ability to be insured as a driver on the company's insurance policy
- After-hours support of subscribers and network per on-call schedule
- Maintain the ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds
- Maintain database records
- Be familiar with and follow company safety policies and procedures
- Other job duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior fiber experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
Physical Requirements
You may be required to perform physical demands as required such as bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, reaching, digging, pulling, occasionally crawling or lying on the ground, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
Physical Testing
You may be required to perform a physical exam on the day of the interview.

Construction Laborer
$17 - $23 hourly
Cambridge Telephone Company is looking to fill the role of Construction Laborer. CTC is an Idaho-based Telecommunications Carrier and ISP. The Laborer will be responsible for all physical labor to install, provide, and maintain telecommunications services. This position will report to the Outside Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Cambridge Telephone Company outside plant install, improvement, and maintenance of telephone and internet facilities

- Provide and maintain proper work boots and clothing to withstand daily elements throughout the season

- Need to be extremely physical and self-motivated

Construction Operator
$23 - $33 hourly
Cambridge Telephone Company is looking to fill the role of Construction Operator. CTC is an Idaho-based Telecommunications Carrier and ISP. This position will report to the Outside Plant Manager and will be responsible for operating heavy equipment while installing, improving, and maintaining telephone, fiber, and copper communication facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operating equipment while installing, improving, and maintaining telephone, fiber, and copper communication facilities
- Outside plant construction: installation of buried fiber, conduit, and cable; preparation and cleanup of job site; operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Follow instructions and standard operating procedures for installing fiber optic cable, including all public safety precautions and prescribed safety procedures
- Work with Manager on line and groundwork
- Work with buried cable construction crews
- Respond to outside plant emergency calls when called upon
- Work with Manager to assure quality installation and that proper maintenance procedures are followed
- Be familiar with and follow company safety policies and procedures
- Promote a quality working environment
- Provide and maintain proper work boots and clothing to withstand daily elements throughout the season

Business Development Representative
(Hybrid – CTC & Timberline)
$50,000 - $63,000 annually
The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving business growth and increasing brand awareness for both Cambridge Telephone Company and Timberline Title & Escrow. This hybrid full-time role divides time between the two organizations — developing strategic relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and representing both brands throughout the communities we serve.
Working closely with internal teams, this position will execute business development initiatives, strengthen community presence, and support customer acquisition efforts. The ideal candidate is an outgoing relationship builder who enjoys networking, identifying opportunities, and serving as a brand ambassador. The primary objective is to generate new customers and increase market penetration within our service territories.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development, Marketing & Brand Awareness
- Develop and execute strategies to generate new business opportunities for both CTC and Timberline
- Build and maintain relationships with commercial customers, business owners, developers, real estate professionals, builders, and community leaders
- Identify prospective customers and cultivate a strong pipeline of business opportunities
- Collaborate with sales and leadership teams to support revenue growth initiatives
- Partner with internal and external marketing resources to develop and implement campaigns that increase brand awareness
- Represent CTC and Timberline at community events, chamber activities, trade shows, networking functions, and industry meetings
- Promote both organizations through sponsorships, community engagement, and strategic partnerships
- Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
- Maintain a positive and professional representation of the companies in the community
CTC Responsibilities
- Conduct door-to-door sales activities throughout designated neighborhoods within our ILEC service area
- Distribute door hangers and other marketing materials to targeted homes and businesses
- Educate prospective customers about our internet, phone, and other telecommunications services
- Generate new customer line activations by identifying opportunities and closing sales
- Attend sales meetings and participate in product and sales training
- Develop relationships with local businesses and organizations to generate new commercial opportunities
- Increase awareness of CTC's business products and services through targeted outreach and community engagement
Timberline Title & Escrow Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with real estate agents, brokers, developers, builders, architects, and property managers
- Identify new partnership opportunities that support Timberline's growth objectives
- Increase brand visibility and generate qualified leads through networking and industry involvement
Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or relationship management
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area
- Comfortable walking neighborhoods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, technology, construction, real estate, or related industries
- Existing relationships within the local business community
