Fiber to the home
What is it?
CTC currently provides internet service by three methods: copper cable, wireless, and fiber. The delivery method determines the maximum level of speeds you can get through your internet connection. A copper or wireless connection provides a typical max speed of up to 50/10 Mbps. Copper wire (DSL) service is also limited by the distance between your home and the nearest cabinet. Some of the furthest out customers aren’t even able to get 4/1 Mbps.
Fiber service typically resolves those issues as service is now delivered using lasers with packets traveling near the speed of light. Top speeds of 1000 Mbps will be delivered to a larger footprint than before with construction crews actively working to extend this service to our customers.
At the end of the installation you’ll have better service and higher speeds with fewer internet interruptions.
Why do I need it?
CTC is on a mission to upgrade all of its infrastructure as fiber service allows us to provide a higher level of customer service, better internet options, and generally a better experience for the customers.
We are able to troubleshoot and resolve more issues remotely and quickly get you back up and running without having to dispatch a technician. This gets your service up and running sooner and not waiting for a tech to show up which for some of our customers is a minimum three hour drive time.
