Voice-mail for Boise Customers

From Home –

-Dial *83

-Enter default password – Your 10 digit phone number

-This will take you to the setup menu and you can retrieve your messages and change your settings.

Away from Home –

-Dial 208-229-9990

-When prompted enter your 10 digit phone number

-Enter your password

 

Mailbox Set-up

Five options in mailbox set-up menu:

Press 1 –  Greetings option (you can disregard this step if you choose to use the default greeting)

Press 2 – Change password

Press 3 – Notification Options (1)

Press 4 – Disable/Enable Auto Login

Press* – Return to main menu

 

To change or record your greeting

Press 1 – Greeting options.

Press 4 – Record your greeting.

Press # – End recording function.

Press 1 – Listen to greeting.

Press 2 – Save greeting.  Greeting must be saved to be activated.

Press 3 – Delete greeting.

Press 4 – Re-record greeting.  Then follow steps 3-5 again.

Press * – Return to mailbox set-up.

-When prompted enter your password (Default to 0000)

Anonymous Call Rejection

  Allows you to refuse calls from callers who have blocked their numbers.

To use Anonymous Call Rejection:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *77. (On a rotary phone, dial 1177.)
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone and then hang up.

To turn off the service:

  1. Press *87.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1187.)
  2. Listen for the confirmation tone and then hang up.

 

Automatic Callback

Automatic Callback dials phone numbers for you and then alerts you when the line is free and the call is ready to go through. Automatic Callback saves you valuable time.  You can handle other tasks while this service keeps trying to reach an important busy number.  Meanwhile, your line stays free for others to use.

How to use Automatic Callback:

  1. When you hear a busy signal, press and release the ‘switchook’.  Listen for a special dial tone.
  2. If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *66 (On a rotary phone, dial 1166.)
  4. If the line is still busy, hang up.  Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
  5. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
  6. Lift the handset to automatically place the call.

To cancel your Callback request:

  1. Depress the ‘switchhook’ and release.  Listen for a special dial tone.
  2. If you’ve already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *86. (On a rotary phone, dial 1186.)
  4. Listen for the confirmation tone and hang up.

 

Automatic Recall

Easily redial your last caller even if you didn’t answer.

How to use Automatic Recall:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. If you were already on the phone and ignored a call-waiting tone, press and quickly release the ‘switchhook’.
  3. Press *69.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1169.)  If the line is idle, the call will be completed.

If the line is busy:

  1. Hang up.  Your phone will keep trying the line for up to 30 minutes.
  2. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
  3. Lift the handset to automatically be connected to the called party.

To cancel you Automatic Recall request, press *89. (On a rotary phone, dial 1188.)

 

Call Forwarding Busy:

Call Forwarding Busy lets you forward your calls to another phone when your line is busy.

**NOTE: Customer should use Call Forward Variable to Forward Calls from Home**

To enable Call Forwarding Busy:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *90.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1190.)
  3. Listen for dial tone.
  4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  5. When the phone is answered, your Call Forwarding is in effect.

If the line is busy, or there is no answer:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Within two minutes, repeat steps 1-4 above.  You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forwarding is now working.

To turn off Call Forwarding Busy:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *91.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1191.)
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone and then hang up.  Your Call Forward Busy is now turned off.

To change the “forward-to number”:

  1. Turn off Call Forwarding Busy and repeat the steps above on Call Forward Busy.

 

Call Forwarding No Answer

With Call Forwarding No Answer, your telephone is automatically forwarded to another party if you do not answer.

**NOTE: Customer should use Call Forward Variable to Forward Calls from Home** 

To enable Call Forwarding No Answer:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *92.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1192.)
  3. Listen for dial tone.
  4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded to.
  5. When the phone is answered, Call Forward No answer is enabled.

If the line is busy:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Within two minutes, repeat steps 1-4 above.  You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forward No Answer is now working.

To disable the service:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *93.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1193.)
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone, then hang up.  Your Call Forward No Answer is now turned off.

To change the “forward-to” number:

  1. Turn off Call Forward No Answer.
  2. Repeat steps above to turn on Call Forward No Answer, entering the new forward-to number.

 

Call Forward Variable

Automatically forwards the subscribers calls to another location when you plan to be away from your telephone for an extended period of timer or you do not wish to receive any calls.  Note that you, not the originating party, are billed for any toll charges when the forward-to-number is outside your local calling area.

  1. To activate this feature, dial *72 and wait for dial tone; then dial the forward-to-number and wait for 2 bursts of dial (confirmation) tone.  The called number is stored and call forwarding is activated.  If you wish to call the forward-to-number to notify the party of the call forwarding condition, wait approximately 4 seconds and the call will be placed.
  2. To deactivate this feature and restore normal service, dial *73 and wait for 2 bursts of dial (confirmation) tone, then hang up.

 

Call ID Name & Number

Calling ID Name and Number will allow you to see who is calling before you answer.  You choose which calls to answer immediately and which ones to return at a more convenient time.  Special Call ID equipment is required.

 

Call Waiting

If you are using your telephone, Call Waiting notifies you when you have another call.  When you are using the telephone a special tone tells you a second call is waiting.  Simply press and release the ‘switchhook’ on your telephone.  You are connected to the waiting call.  To return to the original caller, simply press and release the ‘switchhook’ again.  To leave Call Waiting, hang up, your phone will ring, answer and you will be connected with the remaining caller.

 

Conference Calling or Three Way Calling

Allows you to talk to two people in separate locations at the same time.

To enable Conference Calling:

  1. Establish a normal two party call.
  2. Flash the ‘switchhook’.  Recall dial tone is returned, and the first party is put on soft hold.
  3. Dial the number of the next party.  Ringing tone is returned if the line is idle.  When the ringing party answers, flash the ‘switchhook’ and all three parties are connected.

To leave Conference Calling:

  1. A called party can leave the call at any time, simply by replacing the handset.  When the caller disconnects, the called party is disconnected.

 

Distinctive Ringing

This feature allows a subscriber to have a coded ring on a single line.  This feature assigns an additional telephone number to each ringing code.  Please call your telephone company to activate this feature.

 

Do Not Disturb

 Allows subscribers to prevent incoming calls from ringing at their stations.  Only callers who have the subscriber’s Personal Identification Number (PIN) can override the Do Not Disturb feature.  To activate the feature, the subscriber can dial *78 on a push button phone or 1178 on a rotary phone.  To deactivate the feature, the subscriber can dial *79 push-button or 1179 rotary.  Subscribers with push-button phones can change their PIN by dialing the access code #87.   The subscriber is still able to make outgoing calls while the Do Not Disturb feature is activated.

 

Home Intercom

Allows subscribers with an individual access line, to use the line as an intercom system.  This feature is activated when the subscriber dials their own number from any extension on the line, receives a busy signal and hangs up.  Upon hanging up, all extensions on the line will ring.

 

Last Number Redial

Allows a subscriber to dial a code (11) that will cause the feature to automatically redial the number of the last incoming call to that line, whether the call was answered or not.  The customer does not have to know the number of the calling party.  If the called number is busy, the feature will redial the number for a limited time.  A tone alerts the subscriber when the called line is available.

 

Speed Calling 80 Numbers

Quickly dial 8 of your most frequently called numbers.

To add a number to your speed call list:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.

2.   Press *74.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1174.)

3.   Listen for dial tone.

  1. Dial a single digit speed code (chose any number, 2 through 9.)
  2. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code.  (for long distance calls, be sure to include “1” plus the area code.)
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone (four seconds after dialing).

To call someone on your Speed Calling list:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Dial the single digit speed code, then press the # key.  (On a rotary phone, wait four seconds after dialing).

To change your Speed Call list follow steps 1-6 above.

 

Speed Calling 30 Numbers 

Quickly dial 30 of your most frequently called numbers.

To add a number to your speed call list:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *75.  (On a rotary phone, dial 1175.)
  3. Listen for dial tone.
  4. Dial a two-digit speed code (choose any number, 20-49).
  5. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code.  (For long distance calls, be sure to include “1” plus the area code.)
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone (four seconds after dialing).

To call someone on your Speed Calling list:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Dial the two digit speed code, then press the # key (on a rotary phone, wait four seconds after dialing).

To change your Speed Call list follow steps 1-6 above.
